Tucker Carlson blasts a generation of U.S. “leaders” who have sold their souls — and our country — to Communist China

In the 1970s and 1980s, a large number of Americans were concerned that we were losing our economy to Japan, as that country began producing a majority of consumer goods ranging from electronics to cars. After concerns about Japan began to subside, early ‘America firsters’ like billionaire industrialist Ross Perot, who ran for president in 1992 and 1996, began warning of the economic damage “free trade deals” like NAFTA would do to American industry. Specifically, during a presidential debate with then-President George H. W. Bush and the Democratic nominee, Bill Clinton, Perot warned of “a giant sucking sound” of U.S. jobs headed south to Mexico. https://youtu.be/xQ7kn2-GEmM He was right, of course: Over the next two decades, entire factories in the U.S. moved to Mexico, while other manufacturing moved to Canada, and again, the American worker suffered. President Donald Trump recently righted this wrong when he renegotiated NAFTA and the Congress finally passed it. But the great American giveaway to other nations did not stop with Japan or NAFTA: A generation of American leaders, beginning with Clinton as president in the 1990s, also sold our collective soul to Communist China. Fox News host Tucker Carlson recently addressed this during a segment on his weekday prime time program, calling China a “dangerous enemy” whom our leaders have deferred to in order to ‘get paid.’ “China is no longer simply an economic rival of the United States; it’s becoming a dangerous enemy,” he said. “But instead of protecting us from this threat, an existential one, our leadership class collaborates with the other side. “Why do they do that? Simple. They’re getting rich from it,” he added, according to LifeSite News, which noted further:  Carlson named leaders from sports, politics, academia, and business to illustrate examples of influential Americans willing to throw American values and freedoms under the bus for Chinese cash. His first examples were Daryl Morey, the general manager of the National Basketball Association, and star basketball player LeBron James.

China literally stole our nuclear secrets

“NBA general manager Daryl Morey, you'll remember, wrote a tweet supporting pro-democracy protesters in Hong Kong, and in the resulting backlash, the NBA and Morey both apologized for daring to criticize China's fascist regime,” Carlson said. “And then LeBron James weighed in and explained to us that, actually, freedom of speech in America is vastly overrated.” But this goes much deeper than just cultural snafus. In the 1990s, President Clinton was accused of — and investigated for — accepting ‘campaign contributions’ from China, which used middle man Charlie Trie.  Back when CNN was still a reliable network, the outlet reported that Trie was indicted in January 1998 for “campaign finance abuses” linked to “alleged improprieties in raising money” for Clinton’s 1996 reelection campaign.  There’s more. A House investigation led by then-U.S. Rep. Chris Cox (R-Calif.) found that “Chinese spies have stolen design information for nearly all of the components needed to launch a sophisticated nuclear attack on the U.S.,” The Wall Street Journal reported in May 1999.  “The haul includes thermonuclear warheads, missile technology to carry them, and guidance systems for missiles and other key U.S. weapons systems,” the paper added. For his part, Carlson also noted that several retired U.S. officials and lawmakers have “literally joined China’s payroll.” They include former Sens. Mark Kirk (now “a registered foreign agent”) and Joe Lieberman, as well as former U.S. Rep. Rick Boucher. And this doesn’t include all of the U.S. investments in China by American corporations and individuals who are aiding and abetting Beijing’s “explicit goal…to obtain Western technology and research for China’s own use so they can surpass us, which they are.” American universities are also taking Chinese money, he added.  “Harvard and Yale both stand accused of hiding hundreds of millions in donations from payments from foreign countries. Needless to say, China is one of the top contributors,” he said. Sources include: LifeSiteNews.com TheNationalSentinel.com WSJ.com CNN.com
